In the Month of February
BackTABOR IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY
Within the month of February our students took part in the following activities:
- We held a Year 9 into 10 Options Fair in the main hall on Monday 6th February. During this very busy evening students and parents went around the various subjects talking to staff to get more details about what the courses involve.
- Year 9 watched a Child Exploitation Performance on Monday 27th February. It was titled “Chelsea’s Story” which was superbly performed by Alter Ego Creative Solutions.
- On the 6th February Year 9 and 10 attended a special assembly on Apprenticeships led by Make Happen
- Year 12 and 13 were involved in a virtual careers session led by SS&C Financial Services
- Our Independent Careers provider “Directions” and Make Happen led 1:1 career advice sessions to selected Year 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 students
- Colchester Institute visited the school on 9th February to talk to our Year 10 & 11 students about Apprenticeships, T-Levels and Higher Education
- A speaker from The Financial Times talked to our Year 11, 12 and 13 students and why the news industry matters and the future of journalism
We visited the following places:
- Year 8 and 9 students visited the Rose Theatre, Kingston Upon Thames to see a production of Noughts and Crosses.
Tabor took part in the following sporting fixtures:
- The Sixth Form Football team had their first fixture of the year. This was played at home against Gosfield. Tabor won 4-0 and Archie scored a hattrick.
- Our Year 7 Football team played HRS in the District Cup. We won 5-1. They then went on to play Forest Hall in the next round and won 8-1.
- We hosted the Primary District Cross Country on Monday 27th February. Our students were fantastic leaders and helped support the event. Staff from other schools were very complimentary about how helpful and polite they were.
