In the month of November

TABOR IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER

Within the month of November our students took part in the following activities:

• Yr 7 Welcome Evening where parents were able to discuss how their child was settling into Tabor school. A very positive evening attended by many parents.
• Our annual Service of Remembrance Day was the best ever organised by Mr Wiles. We had many important service men and women attend our Remembrance Event. Many of our students were involved, from speeches to drama and music performances to remember such an important day.
• We held a parental workshop for parents of our Year 11 Computer Science students.  This was led by Mr Coulson.
• We held a parental meeting for all those interested in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
• Year 7 organised a  lunchtime fundraiser in aid of UNICEF
• University of Essex Sports Science lecturers visited the school and spoke to our Sixth form A level PE students
• Year 7 had a reward event in the Studio led by Mrs Brooks to say well done for making such a great start to Tabor Academy
• An external speaker came in to students about Women in Sport

We visited the following places:

• Year 10 & 11 visited the Victoria Albert and Design Museum in London and were amazed to see the HRH King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort also paying a visit.
• Year 12 & 13 students visited Chelmsford Cathedral to attend a Crime and Deviance Conference
• Year 8 visited the Natural History and Science Museum in London
• Year 7 went London to see Wicked in the West End
• Year 12 & 13 students went to the escape rooms in Kelvedon Hatch and also visited the Nuclear Bunker
• The PE Department rewarded selected students from Years 7-9 and went to Braintree BMX track to ride the course.  A great experience for them all.

Tabor took part in the following sporting fixtures

• We hosted the District Cross Country.  Our students performed exceptionally well and we certainly proud of their efforts throughout the day.
