Tabor Academy Festival of Remembrance – 11th November 2022

Back
November 25th 2022

The 12th Tabor Academy Festival of Remembrance was a very fitting occasion to remember our fallen ancestors and give thanks to our current armed and domestic forces who were represented in some way.  We had VIP guests returning again from previous years and guests attending for the first time being overwhelmed by the enormity of the Tabor Academy service.  Tabor Academy were honoured by the attendance of the Lord Lieutenant of Essex with her husband for fourth consecutive year and Jo and Mason Godfrey, the sister and nephew of Lance Corporal Scott Hardy.

The work that the performing students put in to achieve perfection with passion was incredible, with the national anthem being outstanding. Everyone who attended was full of admiration not only for the service, but the behaviour and respect the students showed throughout the service. The Headteacher Sarah Speller was bursting with pride when receiving a High Sheriff of Essex Award for the service.  We were proud that the CEO Mrs Anita Johnson OBE and the board of directors of the trust attended and without exception The Committee of The Royal British Legion, veterans and serving military and domestic services and Essex Province Masons. The Remembrance Service would not be possible without the help of guests, reprographics, site team, IT with rolling murals, catering by Harrisons, event sponsors, Mike Simmons piping was perfection, Mark Bowman for presenting the festival and lastly a massive thank you to Mr Gordon Roach for his dedication to the service.  We at Tabor Academy are extremely proud of the Remembrance Service that took place.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, Tabor Academy will continue to remember them. God save the King.
