Support for your learning

Tabor Academy supports the learning of students outside of lessons in a variety of ways.

There is a daily homework club run before and after school in the school Library to facilitate students completing this work; staff supervising this are also available during this time to offer support.  This can prove very popular, so there are two sessions before school.  The library is also available at break and lunchtime to students who wish to use it to study or read.

Extra curricular clubs run at lunchtime and after school, and can be found on the relevant year page.

During the school holidays, intervention and revision sessions are provided for students in Key Stage Four and timetables for these are issued prior to the holidays and posted on the relevant year group pages.  Information about term time revision and intervention classes is issued at the start of each term; if you have any queries about these please do not hesitate to contact the relevant Achievement Team Leader or Year Care Team.

For Key Stage Three students, Literacy and Numeracy booster classes are provided both during and outside the school day.  The purpose of these is to accelerate individuals progress in these areas to ensure they are able to fully access, and participate in their lessons.  Further information is issued to the parents of students involved in these groups.

The skill of reading is vitally important if a student is to achieve their full potential, and the school planners have a detailed list of suggested books; all students are issued with a planner at the start of the academic year.

Access to mymaths.co.uk is provided to all students; this is a valuable resource for students wishing to engage in extra study or revise topics they have covered in class.  Log in details are issued to each student at the beginning of the academic year through their Maths teacher.  If your child has forgotten or lost their log-in, they should see their Maths teacher to get this reset.

There are a wide variety of other websites which will provide support for students studying at home.  Subject specific links are provided on the subject pages with some general ones provided below:
