The Year 11 Tabor football team played a tense game against Maltings Academy. The two teams fought hard for a place in the final. The game was fraught as they battled against each other on a cold November evening. They tackled and hustled constantly to free the ball and pass to their team mates. As the end whistle approached the score was nil – nil. In the final five minutes in a flurry of speed and skill Keidis received the ball on half the turn, dropped his shoulder to create space for a shot form 30 yards out. The ball sped towards the goal, the breath of the spectators was held as the ball rebounded off the post and scored the winning goal. The air was filled with cheers and celebrations. In the last few moments the Maltings team came back with a last attempt to equal the score but with no avail.
Well done to the boys who will play in the finals.
