The year 9s secured a semi-final place in the North West Essex District Schools Football Cup with a hard-fought victory over Ramsey. The first half saw the wind dominate things in terms of carrying the ball all over the pitch, and it was no surprise that it was still 0-0 at half time. Ramsey took the lead early in the second half with a strong headed goal from a corner kick. The Tabor team responded excellently and remained focused to get themselves back into the game. A well-taken free-kick between Riley and Lewis saw Tabor get themselves back to 1-1 before Charlie whipped in a corner and Lewis was there to tap in a second to give Tabor a 2-1 lead. By this point, Tabor were playing with greater confidence and the quality of football was very good to watch. Further well-taken goals from Charlie, Billy and Harvey saw Tabor to a well deserved victory, with the second half in particular illustrating what a talented group of players are based in the year group. The boys have now reached their third semi-final in three years and will be looking to reach the final for a third consecutive year too. Well done to Year 9!!
