On Wednesday 9th March, eight Tabor Academy students took part in a regional languages speaking competition at Alec Hunter Academy organised by the Association of Language Learners. Our students were among 150 others from schools in Colchester, Harlow, Gosfield, Coggeshall and Braintree who took part. The students were all given a dialogue to learn and create an amusing ending for and they performed this in French or German to the panel of judges. Our students had spent plenty of time practising but they were still understandably nervous on the day. They performed really well under pressure and we are really proud of them but the competition was fierce and we didn’t have any winners this time but we do have eight very determined linguists who are planning to go back next year! Well done to Team Tabor: Sam and Caitlin – Year 8 French, Katy and Alistair – Year 8 German, Kornelia and Abigail – Year 9 German, Katrina and Bethany – Year 8 French.
Thank you to our colleagues at Alec Hunter for hosting the event and making Team Tabor so welcome. We look forward to competing again next year! Mr Pennington and Mrs Gillhespey, Languages Dept
